NOTICE OF SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
January 17, 2022 9:00AM COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL
Pursuant to Section 194(1)(a) of the Municipal Government Act of Alberta, RSA 2000, and amendments thereto, I, Tyler Gandam, Mayor of the City of Wetaskiwin, hereby call, and provide notice of, a Special Council Meeting to be held on Monday, January 17 at 9:00AM at City Hall (4705 — 50 Avenue), to address the following:
- Wetaskiwin Emergency Shelter and Homeless Encampment
- Motion 318/21 Moved that City Council directs administration to work with RCMP and to utilize a defined zone within 5800 37A Avenue to provide temporary access to provide toilets, grass cutting, and garbage disposal.
- Motion 326/21 Moved that City Council directs the Winter Shelter Subcommittee to set up a fenced encampment on 37A Avenue on the road allowance as a temporary warming shelter 24/7 until March 31, 2022; it would provide security, with cultural sensitivity training, first aid training, Narcan training and cleaning services provided based on funding allocations being awarded to the City and/or FCSS.
