Held annually on June 21, National Indigenous Peoples Day is an opportunity to celebrate and learn more about the cultural diversity of Canada's First Nations people. The following events are taking place in Wetaskiwin and area in honour of this important occasion:
- June 19 | 1 pm - 3 pm | Wetaskiwin Memorial Arts Centre (dancing, drumming, bannock, etc.)
- June 21 | Events in Maskwacis (the City will provide free busing from Wetaskiwin to Maskwacis and back to anyone wishing to attend the celebration in Maskwacis. Details to come soon).
