1. Is Wetaskiwin City Hall open to the Public?

Yes! City Hall is open for limited visitation Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 12 noon, and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm (closed from 12 noon to 1:00 pm for lunch).

Only 4 people are allowed inside the first floor lobby at any one time. *parents with children will be counted as one (1), as long as physical distancing is maintained.*

The designated entrance is on the south side of the building, unless visitors require an accessible entrance, then they may use the north door. The north door has been designated as the exit.

No access to the upper floors of City Hall is allowed, unless attending a City Council meeting. Any other business that you would normally have completed by visiting the 2nd or 3rd floor of City Hall will continue to be conducted by phone or email.

There will be NO public washroom access.

Hand sanitizing stations are set up at both the entrance & exit to the building.

2. What City facilities are closed to the public?

As of end of day July 17, 2020, the following City facilities remain closed to the public until further notice. These include, but are not necessarily limited to:

• The Manluk Centre: Wetaskiwin Regional Aquatics and Fitness 
• The Civic Centre Complex (including the Drill Hall and Arenas) 
• The Civic Building (where Wetaskiwin Archives is housed)
• Fire Services office (5940 - 40 Avenue)

The City is continuing to monitor the situation in regards to COVID-19 and will re-evaluate any decisions on an ongoing basis, in accordance with all Alberta Health Services recommendations.

3. How do I contact someone at City Hall if I have a question?

Call 780.361.4400 and you will be forwarded to the proper department, or provided with more information. You can call City Hall Monday to Friday between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

4. Is the City of Wetaskiwin under a State of Local Emergency?

No. The official State of Local Emergency has been lifted.

The City of Wetaskiwin was under a State of Local Emergency from March 24, 2020 until June 17, 2020.

The Emergency Operations Centre remains functional though meetings are being held less frequently and consist primarily of planning the safe re-opening of City facilities.

5. How do I contact FCSS?

6. If I’m self-isolating, quarantined, or practicing social distancing, how can I pay my City bills?

As of March 19, 2020, all water disconnects have been postponed and no late fees will be applied to outstanding utility payments. City Council will re-assess this by June 30, 2020. For those wishing to continue paying their utility bills, here are your options:

• Setting up bill payments through your bank (in person or online)
• Mailing a cheque to the City at: P.O. Box 6210, Wetaskiwin, AB, T9A 2E9
• Delivering a money order or cheque to Wetaskiwin City Hall’s night drop box (located on the north side of 4705 - 50 Avenue).

7. Is the Manluk Centre's running day camps?

No, not until further notice.

9. Are the Drill Hall and other City-operated facilities taking bookings?

Yes! You can call 780.361.4412 to inquire about booking the Drill Hall, the Memorial Arts Centre, and By-the-Lake Park Hall for future events, as long as these events follow Alberta Heath Services public health guidelines.

10. I have a monthly membership to the Manluk Centre. What will happen to my pass while the swimming pool is closed?

All monthly and annual memberships were suspended as of March 13, 2020. Once the facility re-opens to the public, memberships will be extended to cover the days it was closed.

The fitness centre is scheduled to re-open, with new restrictions and protocols, on July 24, 2020.

In order to protect the health and safety of the public and to comply with all provincial public health orders, all City-led events have been cancelled for the rest of 2020.

• Official Canada Day events
• Taste of Wetaskiwin
• City Open House
• Summer camps and programming
